Queen Victoria's Folly is actually my own folly.
It's completely different from anything I've ever made, and this is quite obvious just
observing the thumbnails on my Portfolio page. The necklace is
heavily inspired by the Victorian and Deco jewelry of the past century which I've always
admired, but never attempted to replicate.
My own interpretation pays particular attention to achieving a less "heavy" visual structure, given the black color palette. An important and dark necklace, but with a dimension of light and air. A study in monochrome, for this necklace only shades of black and silver were used, and the Swarovski crystals used are all either Jet or Black Diamond. The components of the necklace are backed with grey ultrasuede.
Materials Vintage German glass (early 1920's) Swarovski crystal (cabochons, rivolis, bicones, rounds, chatons, pendants), Czech firepolish crystals, cathedral beads, drop beads, bugle beads, Czech and Japanese seed beads and Delicas, fiber optic cubes, pierced onyx beads
